Our team of experienced winemakers join together to produce a suite of
The Tudal family continues to produce Arnold Tudal's signature cult classic, the Tudal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, but have since added a variety of wonderful blends which include our award winning Tractor Shed Red, and the 30th anniversary Legacy Lot 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our expert winemaker Ron Vuylsteke grew up surrounded by berry bushes on his family farm in Hillsboro, Oregon. In 1969, the family turned a bumper crop of blackberries into wine. Then raspberries, boysenberries and gooseberries followed.
In 1984 he moved to Calistoga to "broaden his horizons" and began his work with several local wineries, and finally settled in with Tudal in 1997. Since then, he has been responsible for gold medals on every Cabernet we've crafted since the mid 90's.
Now nearing 21 years at the winery, his intimate understanding of the vines and the production of wine allow him to produce an entire suite of world class wines.

One of the many valued “Team Tudal” members was noted winemaker Kirk Venge, who briefly joined us for the 2009-2010 vintage to train Matt Tudal-Fidge, and to assist in the creation of the Tudal Legacy Lot. Arnold Tudal would have been very pleased that we enrolled the talented son of his good friend and advisor, Nils Venge. 2011 was another milestone year as we released the 30th vintage of our Signature Wine – Tudal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
Another important team member is consulting winemaker and family friend Rudy Zuidema. As a consulting winemaker for small estate programs, Rudy Zuidema combines a passion for agriculture with an expansive knowledge of winemaking. In the cellar, he uses the entire range of winemaking methods, from traditional open-top fermentation using native yeasts to cutting edge Flash Détente extraction.
